Baby room - your child's first room

Arranging a baby's room is a real challenge. The baby's room should be primarily functional, so that it is easy for a freshly baked mother to find everything she needs - to change, feed, put the baby to sleep. In the baby's room, it is worth choosing pleasant and subdued colors, against which all accessories will look coherent. In addition to the furniture that will be necessary, it is worth introducing a bit of cosiness with the help of decorations for the baby's room.

What accessories for a baby's room?

When arranging a room for an infant, it is worth starting from a neutral base. Let's start with brightly colored furniture, then start setting the mood in the room with lamps, rugs, window coverings, toys and decorations that swing from the ceiling. An accent on one of the walls can help to achieve the goal. It can be a characteristic wallpaper or funny stickers.

Nothing will make the interior of a truly cozy bedroom like decorations for a baby's room. In addition to textiles, which are beautiful in themselves, when decorating a toddler's space, let's use garlands, suspended dream catchers, or let's design a gallery with family photos and sweet posters.

More about arranging a baby room can be found in the entry: How to decorate a baby's room. A few tips.

How to prepare a room for a newborn. What is essential?

Decorating the first room for a new family member has something dreamy about it, but it can also be overwhelming. Expecting a baby future parents think about organizing a room before they even start to complete a layette for the hospital. Planning the space of the child's room early enough will definitely make it easier for you to organize and adapt to the new reality when the child is with you.

Of course, it is not the case that when arranging a baby room, everyone uses a ready-made recipe. What you will need as new parents should suit your needs, preferences and lifestyle. Maybe you intend to share a bedroom with a newborn baby - then you will only need a cradle or a cot and a chest of drawers (preferably equipped with a changing table). When it comes to accessories, it is worth focusing on the necessary ones - swaddles and diapers, a blanket and a sleeping bag or a cone. Within the crib, a small night lamp will certainly be useful, which will provide soft light when feeding or putting the baby to sleep.

However, if you are arranging a room for your "little - great" child from the beginning, here is a list of things to consider:

1. Baby room furniture

In the baby's room must not miss a dresser, preferably equipped with a changing table. A capacious chest of drawers will allow you to hide clothes, diapers and other necessary accessories, and thanks to the mounted one changing tablemakes it easier for parents to change their baby.

A wardrobe for a baby's room is equally important, especially if a chest of drawers is not enough. It is worth betting on a wardrobe that is equipped with rods and shelves. Thanks to this, it will serve the baby for a long time.

Baby cot it is undoubtedly the first piece of furniture that future parents think about. Is it necessary? The truth is that it will depend on you and your baby. Not all newborns immediately sleep in wooden beds designed for them (especially when they are placed outside the parents' bedroom). It may take all of you time and patience to get your baby used to sleeping in a crib. It may turn out that your little one will feel safer and fall asleep better in a Moses basket or cradle.

If you decide to buy beds with rungs, you usually have two sizes to choose from: smaller - 60 x 120 cm and larger - 70 x 140 cm. And if you initially plan for your baby to sleep in a Moses basket, we recommend choosing a larger size of the bed - it will serve your baby longer. In addition, to make sure that the child feels comfortable, equip it with a baby nest (or baby cocoon). It will wrap the baby and protect it from possible impact on the rungs.

2. Baby nest

Baby nests are a very functional addition to the baby's room, which will also work outside it. In our offer you will find high-quality, solid cocoons for babies, in which your little one will be able to sleep day and night. We especially recommend kapok cocoonswhich is an air-permeable material, hence definitely safe for sleeping babies.

3. Educational mat or bouncer

An educational mat for a baby can be used from 3 months of age newborn. The sensory mat, equipped with charming pendants and rattles, will perfectly stimulate the baby's senses and encourage him to explore the surrounding space. You can also choose to baby bouncer, which thanks to the soothing rocking will rock the baby to sleep during the day. It is worth noting, however, that the bouncer is not an alternative to the educational mat and the child (due to the position of the body) should not spend too much time in it. The baby bouncer, however, is a great solution for afternoon naps and in moments when the mother has to go to the toilet for a moment.

4. Covers and diapers

There are never too many of these in a baby's chest of drawers. Good quality covers and diapers will come in handy more than once a day. Larger sizes can be used to wrap a baby or be used as a blanket on warmer days, smaller ones - always and everywhere, i.e. when traveling, for bouncing the baby after feeding, wiping the face or changing.

5. Toys and decorations for the baby's room

A soft carpet, a canopy over the cot that will limit the amount of incoming light, or a designer lamp - all this will beautifully complement the arrangement of the baby's room. Remember, however, that the baby's room will, especially at the very beginning, serve primarily as a bedroom. Let's try not to "overwhelm" it with excess decorations that could stimulate the baby too much. In addition, the most important thing is for the child to feel safe and comfortable in their space. Toys and decorations that we recommend in the category Baby room to carousels and mobiles – both making sounds and without melodies, music boxes and humming teddy bears from the Polish brand Mooniethat will help your little one fall asleep.
